Rainwater flowing off a roof after a storm

Storm Damage & Emergency

Storm Damage Roof Repair in Chattanooga

Storm damage is stressful enough without guessing what your roof needs. We inspect the damage, document it thoroughly, explain what your options are, and if you need to file an insurance claim, we help you through that process.

What storm damage looks like

Wind can lift and remove shingles, hail can cause bruising and granule loss that shortens roof life, and falling branches can puncture the roof surface. Sometimes the damage is obvious — missing shingles, water pouring in. Other times it is subtle and only visible up close.

That is why we get on the roof. A drone flyover or a look from the ground will not catch everything. We physically inspect, document with photos and video, and show you what we found. Lifted, creased, or missing shingles from wind are covered on the wind damage page.

Helping with the insurance process

Dynamic can help document roof damage, explain the roofing findings, and stay involved with homeowners through the insurance process, including communication about the roofing work. Your insurance carrier determines coverage and payment. We do not guarantee claim approval or payment, and we do not decide what the policy covers. The storm damage roof inspection guide walks through what that visit looks for and what gets documented.

One customer said Dynamic made their windstorm insurance claim easy, guided them through the entire process, worked directly with the insurance company, and left the property spotless after installation. On a storm-damage job, we document the visible damage, explain what we found, and help you understand the next step.

Common questions

Questions homeowners ask about storm damage

What are signs of storm damage on a roof?

Wind can lift, crease, or remove shingles. Hail can bruise shingles and knock off granules, which shortens the life of the roof even before a leak starts. Falling branches can puncture the surface. Sometimes shingles are in the yard. Sometimes the roof looks fine from the street and the damage is only visible up close. We get on the roof and document each area with photos and video.

Can hail damage exist without a visible leak?

Yes. Hail often marks shingles and loosens granules without opening an immediate drip. The roof can look acceptable from the ground and still have bruising that will age it faster. Water may not show up inside until a later storm. That is why a physical inspection matters more than a look from the driveway after hail in the Chattanooga area.

What should I do after a windstorm?

Stay off a wet or damaged roof. Note missing shingles, ceiling stains, and debris, then call for an inspection so someone can see the slopes up close. Wind damage is often limited to one area, but creased shingles can still be sealed down and leaking later. Our wind damage page describes what that looks like. If water is coming in now, say so when you call.

Can you document damage for an insurance claim?

Yes. Dynamic can help document roof damage, explain the roofing findings, and stay involved with homeowners through the insurance process, including communication about the roofing work. We can also meet an adjuster on site. Your insurance carrier determines coverage and payment. We do not guarantee claim approval, and we do not decide what the policy covers.

Does storm damage always require a new roof?

No. A storm can remove shingles from one slope and leave the rest of the roof worth keeping. When the damage is isolated and the surrounding material is still sound, a repair is often the right recommendation. Widespread failure is when replacement comes up. We show you the photos either way. A roof repair is still on the table when it actually solves the problem.

How soon should storm damage be inspected?

Sooner is better when shingles are missing or water is getting in, because the next rain uses the same opening. We do not advertise a guaranteed response time. If water is active, tell us that first. A roof inspection after wind or hail is also worthwhile when nothing is dripping yet, because some damage stays hidden until someone is on the roof.
